A space has opened up in a bungalow in Oxfordshire, which is perfect for an independent adult with learning disabilities. Perhaps it could be right for you or someone you know?
This countryside bungalow is located in Abingdon and looks out over the fields of Oxfordshire. There are great bus links to the town centre, but it’s a nice and quiet area. This home is perfect for you if you’re looking for a bit of country living, but you want to have the option of exploring the towns and cities of Oxfordshire too.
The two men who live in the service are in their seventies, but we’re hoping to find someone a bit younger, in their forties or fifties. The people who live in the home love to have meals together, but they enjoy their own space too.
This service has good links with our other local service, and we support people from both services to attend adult learning courses in Abingdon, where you can do everything from pottery to football! We also run a monthly social group, and lots of other trips and activities.
About the bungalow
There are three bedrooms in the bungalow, along with a large bathroom with a shower & toilet, and a further small toilet room. We also have a separate kitchen and dining room, a conservatory, and a lovely garden.
The vacant bedroom is about 10m x 10m, and is soon to be re-decorated so it will have a lovely and new feel.
What support is available
Our friendly support team are dedicated to helping people achieve fulfilling and independent lives. All housemates receive person-centred support, which means we work with each person to develop a support plan that is unique and tailored to their abilities and strengths.
We offer 24hr support, which includes sleep in. Some people at the house receive a helping hand with menu planning, putting together shopping lists, cooking, budgeting, medication and personal care.
If this house sounds perfect for you or your family member, please let us know using the form below, and have a chat with your social worker too.
It’s really important to United Response to protect the privacy, safety and rights of everyone who lives at this location. That’s why we haven’t included every detail and there might be less photos than you’d expect. Please get in touch and we’ll be able to answer any questions, as well as support you and your social worker to assess its suitability.
