We provide support for people who have a learning disability, autistic people or those who have mental health support needs. Collectively, we support 12,000 people and employ 21,000 colleagues across England and Wales.

We are known as More Than A Provider.

We’re united under the belief that people drawing on and working in social care should be at the heart of decision-making. Together, we’re working to influence political parties so they prioritise the needs of disabled people and those with support needs.

But this isn’t an exclusive club. We know that there are brilliant providers across England and Wales who share our ambitions. Together, we believe a brighter future for social care is possible.

Our Story

More Than A Provider members started collaborating in 2018 to build on our shared ethos and experience, create communities of practice, and support each other with shared challenges. We are all members of the Social Care Future movement that aims to make sure everyone has the chance to live a ‘gloriously ordinary life’.

Our manifesto for social care

Brandon Trust, Certitude, Choice Support, Dimensions, and MacIntyre are standing alongside United Response to call for a better future for social care.

As providers of public services, we see first-hand the barriers that get in the way of people living “gloriously ordinary lives”. We want to change that.

We’re calling on all political parties to look at social care not as a problem they don’t want to fix but as a solution for people to live bigger and better lives.

More Than A Provider want to make sure that the government:

  1. Introduces a minimum benchmark for social care pay at NHS Band 3
  2. Introduces a pay progression framework for social care
  3. Introduces national standards for outcomes-based commissioning
  4. Ensures statutory inclusion of voluntary and community organisations in Integrated Care Boards
  5. Implements the Hewitt Review’s recommendation for consolidated health and social care budgets
  6. Includes supported housing in local planning targets
  7. Introduces a ‘kickstart’ equivalent for employing young people with a learning disability and/or autism
