Christmas poems and artwork by Donna Harrison

Donna said:
Caribbean Christmas is such a different tradition. We have rice and peas with sweet potato π .
It’s time for me to rest. We go to church βͺοΈ to the choir.
My favourite β€οΈ songs π΅ are O Come All Ye Faithful and While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night.
Here are Donna’s Christmas poems:
A Christmas Project
Family celebration π of Christmas π once a year. We hang mistletoe on doors and windows.
It is the time π°οΈ of the year when everyone gives presents π.
Putting presents π under the π Christmas tree.
Doing something different like making a gingerbread house π .
It is time π°οΈ to spend with all men and women.
Time to have a pyjama party π, for your friends to come with games that are lots of fun.
Time to make Christmas decorations.
It seems to be a winter π₯Ά festival.
Christmas Bells π
Bells are gold like the coins in the shop.
You buy presents π for your family.
Bell rings at the door for you.
To stay for the night on Christmas Eve.
Snowy Night π
It is icy π§ on the ground that day.
From the snow βοΈ that covers the road.
To the silence π€« of an empty road.
It is icy π§ on the road that day.
Snowflakes fall down from the sky.
Down below π in front of me.
π Christmas At Night π
It was dark that day.
You may see a βοΈ snowman at night.
As snow βοΈ falls from the π sky.
As snow falls onto the ground.
A girl sleeps π near a small candle π―οΈ
But not lit π₯ – that is safe.
It’s time to drink mulled wine π· with your friends or family.
π¦ Reindeer In The Snow βοΈ
As Mary walked in the forest π³ when it was winter π₯Ά. A reindeer runs on a βοΈ snowy hill that day.
Barney the reindeer stops nearby a frozen π₯Ά spring to drink from the lake. Mary walked along the icy π₯Ά path, his eyes gazing into Mary’s eyes.
Barney ran back up β¬οΈ the hill. As Mary followed him to a field of π¦ reindeer standing on the snow.
Mary walked down the snowy path to an open gate. It was cold and frosty βοΈ that morning.
She walked through the gate, never to see π¦ reindeer again.
