The Queen’s Jubilee and Bill So High: poems by Donna Harrison
The Queen’s Jubilee
Queen reigns since 1953
She sees many things for our time
Crown on her head for seventy years
She came to reign in England
All her life in Buckingham Palace
Queen Elizabeth saw many
Come and go but she still remains
For as long as she lives.
Bill So High
There was no food 🍞 to eat or drink 🍹🍹
And the bill was so high.
The cost of living went up.
Lots of bills 💸 piling up on the table
As less money 💰 comes in.
No luxury items to spare for you.
Bills were too high for food on the table.
The rise in the cost of living in Britain. 😑
