United Response’s Radio 4 Charity Appeal: help us tackle disability hate crime
United Response are incredibly excited to announce we have been selected to broadcast a BBC Radio 4 Charity Appeal in October.
We are delighted that Leon Harrop will be presenting our appeal for us. As a Bafta breakthrough winning actor for Ralph & Katie, the first-ever TV drama with two learning-disabled lead actors, Leon is no stranger to challenging stereotypes.
Leon is passionate about stamping out disability hate crime and will be telling listeners about his own experiences facing discrimination despite his fame.
He says: “It is important for people to know what disability hate crime is.”
Make sure to tune into our broadcast on:
Sunday 1 October – 7:54am and 9:25pm
Thursday 5 October – 3:27pm
We want to see a society free from hate. One where disabled people have the same protections under the law. Victims of disability hate crime must be shown that their reports will make a difference so they can feel safe in their community.
Whatever you can give will go towards projects that are working towards raising awareness and support to help end disability hate crimes.
