    3. They want to get rid of Stamp Duty for people buying their first home unless their home is worth £425,000 or more. Stamp Duty is a tax you pay when you buy a home.

    4. They will develop a Renters Reform Bill and stop people being made to leave their home when they haven't done anything wrong. Make it easier for landlords to force people who are behaving badly to leave their homes.

    1. Labour will change the law to end no-fault evictions and support renters to challenge unreasonable rent increases.

    2. They will restore housing targets and build more affordable homes, including more social housing. These are houses you rent from the council or someone similar.

    3. They will help first-time buyers buy homes. They will introduce a mortgage guarantee scheme which will help first-time buyers who find it hard to save for a large deposit.

    4. They will upgrade 5 million homes to be more energy efficient.

  3. 3: Liberal Democrats views on housing

    1. They will build 380,000 homes a year. That includes 150,000 social homes that are cheaper to live in.

    2. They will make life fairer for people who rent homes. For example, by making sure they cannot be told to leave without a good reason.

    3. They will upgrade homes so they are warmer and cheaper to heat.

    4. They will introduce 'rent to own' for social housing . This is where you own some of your property and this amount will go up over time. After 30 years you will own the whole property.

  4. 4: The Green Party views on housing

    1. The Greens will create 150,000 new social homes and end the Right to Buy scheme. The Right to Buy scheme gives people living in social houses the right to buy their house at a cheaper price.

    2. The will put more rent controls in place and stop no fault evictions. This is when people renting a property can be forced to move out by the owner - called a landlord - for no reason.

    3. They will make it possible for people who rent their houses to force their landlord to make where they live more energy efficient. When you live in an energy efficient house you use less energy. For example, you might not need the heating on as much in winter because your house doesn’t get as cold.

    1. Reform want to make it easier to build houses on brownfield sites. Brownfield sites are places where people once built on, even if a building isn't there anymore.

    2. They will make sure local people are first choice on the list for social housing in their area.

    3. They will change the rules so landlords to pay less tax.
