    1. Donald Trump became President of the United States for the second time on the 20th of January.

    2. In the first month of being President, Donald Trump has signed 73 Executive Orders. That is a lot compared to other Presidents.

    3. Executive Orders are a way for the US President to directly tell people what to do. An Executive Order does not have to go through Congress, which is like the United Kingdom's Parliament.

    4. An Executive Order created the Department of Government Efficiency, which is known as DOGE. DOGE seems to be run by Elon Musk.

    5. Elon Musk is the richest man in the world. He owns Tesla, SpaceX, and X, which used to be called Twitter. He spent a lot of money to help get Donald Trump elected.

    6. DOGE says it is trying to stop the United States government from wasting money. The United States already had a Government Accountability Office to look for waste.

    7. DOGE has fired many government workers, and shut down some government departments. Elon Musk said that he had fed the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) “into the woodchipper”.

    8. Another of Trump's Executive Orders told people to call the Gulf of Mexico the Gulf of America instead. Many press companies and tech companies have agreed to do this.

    9. The Associated Press have decided to keep calling it the Gulf of Mexico. Donald Trump has stopped inviting them to press conferences because of this.

    10. Other press companies have lost their offices in the Pentagon, which is where military decisions are made in America.

    11. CBS, NPR, and others were told there was not enough office space in the Pentagon for them any more but can still go to briefings. The space was given to press that likes Trump more and he says offer a wider range of views.

    12. Another Executive Order tried to stop Birthright Citizenship in the United States. That means that people who are born in the United States might not always be a citizen there.

    13. There are many different lawsuits against that Executive Order, saying it goes against the 14th Amendment to the United States. People are waiting for those court cases to finish.

    14. Another Executive Order tells the government to stop all Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs. Those are known in short as DEI.

    15. DEI programs try to make sure everyone can join in at work, especially those who might have been left out in the past. This includes disabled people. Trump believes it encourages discrimination.

    16. Another Executive Order has started America leaving the Paris Agreement, which lots of countries agreed to join to try and slow down Climate Change. Trump is also trying to increase gas and oil production.
