Personalised learning
If you’re interested in joining ROC College we’ll spend time getting to know you, what your skills and interests are, and importantly what you want and need to learn to set you up for success in the future.
We’ll then work together to create a learning plan that works for you.
Our ethos is that learning takes place in the community, not the classroom. This means you won’t be learning in a traditional college setting, instead, we’ll take you out to our learning hubs.

Curriculum
We value the uniqueness of all young people, and our curriculum promotes respect for each young person’s views and for people of all cultures.
Our curriculums are individual to each student. They are built with the student with a holistic approach to academic, social and personal targets, all to prepare for adulthood and transition into the wider world of independence and work.
We do this by providing a broad and balanced education for all students, so they develop knowledge, understand concepts, and acquire skills. We also support students’ spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development. And, importantly, ensure they have an understanding of British Values and how they can contribute positively to society.
Our curriculum covers four pathways:
- Skills for an independent life
- Employability
- Physical skills
- Creative skills

Social Crash
Your curriculum is delivered one-to-one to ensure that the learning is focused on meeting your needs. However, we know how important it is to make friends at college. Once a month, we offer Social Crash activities where you can meet other students and, importantly, have some fun.
At the end of July, we have Activities Week, during which you will have a full week of activities on the timetable. In the past, this has included activities like llama walking, bowling, camping, and theme park visits.
