Busy supported living community in Ipswich seeks new housemate
There are currently 4 gentlemen living in the property, aged between 45 and 65. It’s an established group of people who love living here and appreciate the support provided by our experienced team of staff, who know them well.
The group have a good level of independence, and enjoy making the most of the day services that are available in the area.
This opportunity might be suited to someone who is leaving home for the first time, or who has tried independent living but is finding that they need more support.
Please get in touch and we can discuss with you whether this might be a good fit, or if there are others nearby that would be better suited.
The property
Orbit is the landlord of the property. It’s a modern, roomy 5-bedroom house on a quiet residential estate, so it doesn’t feel at all like a care home.
There’s plenty of parking outside for staff or visitors, and for the resident’s own vehicles.
Downstairs, there’s a kitchen that opens out into a dining room – we love this setup because it creates a nice environment to cook and enjoy food together. There’s also a good-sized sitting room downstairs, along with a WC and someone’s bedroom. There’s a small garden out the back as well.
The vacant room is on the first floor, along with three other bedrooms. It has a sink in the room, and is near to a wet room bath and toilet. Being on the first floor, it wouldn’t suit someone who might find the stairs a challenge.
Conveniently, there is a row of shops opposite and buses round the corner which will take you into the centre of Ipswich.
Our support
United Response is a national charity which provides the support at the house, and our experienced team of support workers has worked there for a long time.
The current support arrangements are for 24-7 staffing at the house, including sleep-in support – so there’s always someone available if needed. The team have experience supporting people with epilepsy and diabetes.
Person-centred support is at the heart of everything we do here – this means that our experienced managers will develop a support plan that precisely matches support with each person’s strengths, abilities and ambitions.
Expressions of interest
It’s really important to United Response to protect the privacy, safety and rights of everyone who lives at this location. That’s why we haven’t included every detail and there might be less photos than you’d expect. Please get in touch and we’ll be able to answer any questions, as well as support you and your social worker to assess its suitability.
