The opportunity and current residents

A spacious upstairs room is available immediately in a comfortable, well-maintained property in north-west Ipswich. This is an ideal space for someone who values independence but needs support from time to time, and would enjoy being part of a close-knit group of friends.

The home is currently shared by two people in their 50s. Both are independent, sociable, and enjoy spending time exploring the local area and visiting family and friends around the country.

One resident has a passion for sport and is working towards participating in the Special Olympics!

Nigel, the service manager here, said:

“This is such a lovely property, so we’re really looking forward to finding someone new to join the group. If you value having the freedom to live life as you choose, but just need a bit of support when you need it, this might be the place for you – please get in touch!”

The property

The detached, two-story house is in the middle of a residential estate, and from outside appearances is no different to any other.

All bedrooms are upstairs. The available room is a generous size and is freshly redecorated. Please note that due to its location, the room is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with reduced mobility.

Bathrooms and toilets: There is a small toilet downstairs and a full bathroom/showeroom upstairs shared by everyone who lives here.

Shared spaces: The house has a communal dining area and sitting room, as well as a modern kitchen.

Outdoor perks: There’s convenient parking and a really large garden, with patio and grass areas, as well as sheds and a greenhouse. The people living here also maintain an allotment nearby.

Nearby amenities: The property is close to local shops and excellent transport links, including easy access to Ipswich town centre—perfect for someone who enjoys getting out and about.

The support

United Response, a national charity, provides expert, person-centred support in the home. Our dedicated team of support workers has been part of this house for many years, offering continuity and care.

A support package will be developed in collaboration with the local authority that’s just right for the new person living here. There are some shared hours between current residents. There is no sleep-in or overnight support provision in this service.

We believe in tailoring support to each individual’s strengths, abilities, and ambitions. Our experienced managers will work with you to create a personalised support plan that empowers you to live as independently and fully as possible.

If you’re looking for a supportive and friendly living environment in Ipswich, we’d love to hear from you!
